Hauser to Marquette

Sam Hauser, a 6-foot-5 wing scorer, committed to Marquette.

Steve Wojciechowski and Marquette added their first commitment of 2016 recruiting class late Sunday evening.

Sam Hauser, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of Stevens Point (Wisc.) Senior, opted to stay in-state and commit to the Golden Eagles. Hauser confirmed the news to Scout.

“My relationship with coach is great and I think the future is bright for the program and I think coach Wojo can develop me to my best potential,” Hauser said when asked about his pledge to Marquette.

Hauser said he also considered Virginia. He took a visit to Marquette over the weekend and that pushed him to make his pledge.

“I kind of knew going in that Marquette was the place I wanted to be and I just wanted to make sure by visiting and it was,” he said.

Hauser said his relationship with his future head coach is strong and he likes his style.

“He is an awesome guy, great coach and he is straight forward and is going to tell you how it is and he believes in me,” Hauser added.
