Bulldogs snag Holman

Mississippi State got a big pledge on Thursday from four-star Aric Holman.

It was an interesting recruitment for Owensboro (Ken.) product Aric Holman. It looked like he planned to attend prep school and be a member of the 2016 class, but on Thursday that was officially put to rest, and Holman went back into the 2015 class.

Hoop Dreams AAU coach Mike Scott informed Scout.com that Holman picked the Mississippi State Bulldogs and their new Head Coach Ben Howland.

“Mississippi State is a close trip for his dad, and he wanted his dad to be able to see him play,” said Scott. “They dissected his game up and down and went after him hard and were able to land his commitment.”

Scott continued, “His recruitment was a little bit different, and people would come and go, but Aric felt that (Mississippi State) was authentic.”

The 6-foot-9 Holman also had offers from schools such as VCU, Xavier, Texas, Cincinnati, and Memphis, but ultimately he chose to go with Mississippi State who made him feel at home.

Currently Holman is ranked as a four-star in the class of 2016, but he will be adjusted into the class of 2015 where he now again resides.
