UA Association: Interest picks up for Diallo

ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- Hamidou Diallo continues to improve and showed off an impressive game over the weekend at the Under Armour Association stop just outside of New York City at House of Sports.

One of the major standouts from the Under Armour Association event held in New York this past weekend was junior-to-be guard Hamidou Diallo.

Diallo, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Putnam (Conn.) Science Academy, is an impressive looking perimeter prospects, as he has a lengthy set of arms, good quickness and impressive athleticism.

Playing for the NY Jayhawks, Diallo showed off his offensive arsenal. He made plays in transition and at the rim, plus proved he could adjust his shots and finish well through contact. Diallo also made shots from three and showed good range on his shot.

“Making shots, getting to the basket and using my athleticism and defend,” Diallo said when asked about the strengths of his game.

Diallo began picking up interest from college following his strong sophomore season, but his play during the first two evaluation periods also helped raise his stock among coaches.

“Lot of people are coming at me hard,” he said. “Minnesota, Providence, UConn and schools like that.”

Diallo also cited offers from Wake Forest, St. John’s, USC and Iowa State.

“The recruiting process hasn’t been that bad for me yet,” Diallo told Scout. “I think coaches are waiting until June 15th to contact me and we’ll see how it picks up from there on.”

Diallo said he hasn’t taken any visits yet and doesn’t currently have any planned.
