Brown seeing his list expand

An impressive spring has led to more interest in shooting guard Bruce Brown.

Four-star shooting guard Bruce Brown flirted with the idea of going into the 2015 class, but now it seems set that he will stick in the 2016 class. While playing for BABC this spring, the 6-foot-4 Brown has been a big time scorer, and now his school list is beginning to expand.

“I’ve been playing well,” said Brown of the spring. “I have been scoring a lot, getting assists, and just trying to be of a more all-around player.”

He continued, “I have been focused on my shot mostly. I am working to be more consistent with my jumper.”

Schools such as Indiana, Connecticut, Arizona State, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Providence, Wake Forest, and SMU have been with Brown for a while, and now a few new schools are really stepping up the interest.

“I have a lot of schools right now,” noted Brown. “I think I am going to visit Arizona in the fall and also I am visiting St. John's this upcoming weekend.”

Chris Mullin and his staff at St. John’s have made it clear that they have a plan for Brown going forward.

“They like me a lot,” said Brown of the Red Storm. “They want me to come in and play the point guard. They think that I can be a big point guard and that they can help me get to the next level.”

Also Arizona has really picked up the interest recently, and Brown likes the school.

“I have been talking to their assistant mostly,” said Brown of the Wildcats. “They told me that they want me to visit in the fall, and that they like me a lot. They say that I could come in a score and be a factor.”

For now there is no specific timeframe for a decision from Brown, but he does know what he will be looking for in a school.

“I just want to go somewhere that lets their guards play and with a coach who isn’t too crazy on the players,” said Brown.
