Recruiting wise things are going well for Walker who is seeing his stock continue to rise. “I have recently been offered by Indiana and Villanova,” said Walker. “Also I am getting letters from UCLA, Ohio State, Oregon and schools like that.” Villanova has been making Walker a priority for a while, and coming off of an excellent season the Wildcats have made a good impression. “I have a good relationship with Villanova,” said Walker. “We have a close relationship. I have a good bond with the coaches, I’ve met the players, and seen the environment. They had me over for a few games, so that has been real good.” When it comes to Indiana, Walker said, “I don’t know a ton about Indiana, but I have done research. I want to get to know their coaches better and find out more about the school, but it was good to get an offer from a prestigious program.” No decision is expected soon, but Walker knows that more than just basketball will go into his school choice. “Academics are going to be really important,” said Walker. “I want to go to a high quality school that will give me a good education. You won’t always have basketball in your life, so for me education is first.”
Walker pulls in big offers
It is never easy to be a class of 2017 kid playing up on a loaded AAU team like Team Final. That however is what Lonnie Walker is doing. Walker is not only holding his own for Team Final, but he is making big plays, and constantly improving. With that his stock is soaring with college coaches. “I have progressed and gotten better and better,” said Walker of his spring. “I have gotten more comfortable with my game, and more comfortable with my teammates, and just really improved.” Walker continued, “Lately I have been focused on being aggressive and also improving on the post.”
