Iowa lands talented freshman
Just a 2018 prospect, it didn't take Joe Wieskamp long to figure out what was the right spot for him. The talented Wieskamp opened up eyes with the Iowa Barnstormers this spring has picked the Iowa Hawkeyes. At 6-foot-5 with a good shooting stroke and solid athleticism, Wieskamp was able to garner early offers from Creighton, Iowa, and Iowa State before picking the Hawkeyes. "Excited and proud to announce that I have committed to the University of Iowa to play basketball," announced Wieskamp. This is an excellent early start for Iowa, as Wieskamp is someone who could turn into one of the better wings in the Midwest in his class. He already has made waves, and is expected to only get better. This is the first commitment for Iowa in the class, and the second year in a row where Iowa has pulled in an early in-state recruit.
