Foster picks Georgetown

Georgetown added a local standout as their first pledge of the 2017 class on Wednesday.

Tyler Foster committed to Georgetown on Wednesday, a source told Scout.

Foster, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard out of Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School, picked John Thompson III and Georgetown over VCU. Foster took an unofficial visit to VCU this past weekend.

Playing for Baltimore's Finest on the Under Armour Association circuit, Foster is averaging 14 points and 4.5 rebounds a game. His point average is good enough for top 10 in UA Association 16's division.

Foster is Georgetown's first commitment of the 2017 recruiting class.
