Wilson Picks Illinois
Kyle Wilson recently visited Illinois and Notre Dame. True to his previous comments in which he implied that if he liked his choices, he would make a decision, Wilson committed to Illinois on Tuesday night.
"Me and my parents went out to eat and discussed it and Illinois is the best place for me," Wilson said. "I really liked Coach Self and Coach Gillespie and the Big Ten. I'm excited."
Wilson recently returned from a trip to South Bend last weekend and was at Illinois the weekend prior to Notre Dame. Earlier in the evening on Tuesday, Wilson told BCH that he was probably going to decide later in the week, but what he really meant was that he was going to decide later in the night.
He called both staffs to inform them of his decision and conceded that calling Notre Dame was a difficult move. "Coach Brey and his staff, they're great people too. But, I'm very happy with my decision."
Wilson brings a little unique style of play to the table. He's capable of playing a little at both forward positions, mainly because he's discovered a very reliable stroke from the perimeter. Now, he'll have to get a little stronger and put on some weight to compliment the range on his jumpshot with more inside play.
A standout in both the classroom and on the hardwood, Wilson already has a qualifying test score.
