Bosh Speaks On His Recruitment

One of the true impact recruits in the Class of 2002 is power forward Chris Bosh. Right now, Bosh is stuck at four schools, but says that two of them currently top the list.

Georgia Tech, Florida Lead A Group Of Four

There might not be a big man prospect in the country with as much upside as Dallas (TX) Lincoln power forward Chris Bosh and that's saying something. The angular Bosh is likely to make an impact as a freshman no matter which program he lands.

Right now, the list reads Georgia Tech, Florida, Michigan and Miami. "I'd probably say Georgia Tech and Florida are the top two right now," Bosh said. "It's just a matter of knowing them a little better and being a little more familiar with them."

In a few weeks, Georgia Tech will have a big weekend. Bosh will be on campus the weekend of Sept. 22 along with another Texas, PG Deron Williams. "We planned to go together," Bosh said. "I know him pretty good. We knew each other and this summer we spent a lot of time around each other. I talked to him about it a little bit and if it fits right for both of us we'll both go there, but we aren't going to be blind about it." Basically, Bosh is saying there is no package deal in the works, but if the chips fall that way, he wouldn't mind.

Meanwhile, Michigan is hoping AAU teammate Daniel Horton can help them in their quest. "It's probably the same situation as with Deron. I'm still looking at them, but I have to feel comfortable and fit in there." Again, if it works out he'll go there, but no package deal is in the works.

Bosh will visit Florida the weekend of September 29. He's yet to schedule his Michigan and Miami visits but says that right now he intends on seeing both campuses.

When asked, he admitted that having a point guard he likes in the program is a big draw. "That should be a part of the visit, knowing who the point [guard] is. When you get [to college] he should be your best friend, the point guard."
