Three recruiting Reese hardest

One of 2017's top four men, Alex Reese has three schools recruiting him the hardest.

One of the biggest national stock risers this spring in 2017 has been 6-foot-9, 220-pound Pelham (Ala.) power forward Alex Reese.

A plus shooter who can really knock down shots from three, Reese can also hit midrange jumpers, rebounds well, has a very high basketball IQ and is an unselfish and good passer.

“I can shoot it pretty well and I block shots,” Reese said. “I’m trying to get better at defense. I’m moving my feet better and making progress.”

Reese holds offers from UAB, Murray State, Alabama, Auburn, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Clemson and Ole Miss.

The rising junior listed three schools recruiting him the hardest and briefly listed what he likes about all of them.

“Vandy, Alabama and Auburn,” he said.

Vandy: “I like their academic program and coaches.”

Alabama: “I like coach (Antoine) Pettway and coach (Avery) Johnson down there. I live a few minutes away from there.”

Auburn “I’ve always liked Auburn. My uncle played football there so I’ve always been around the program.”

As Reese goes through the recruiting process, he’ll be looking for a handful of different aspects of a program.

“I’ll be looking at how they play,” he said. “I want to get up and down the court and play fast. I want to like the people there. Location doesn’t matter; it’s wherever I feel comfortable.”
