2017 Intro: Kaleb Wesson

Kaleb Wesson showed off his skill level at the USA Basketball 16u trials in Colorado Springs. Here's an intro to the 2017 prospect's game and recruitment.

One of the Midwest’s top posts in 2017 is 6-foot-9, 265-pound Westerville (Ohio) South center Kaleb Wesson.

The rising junior’s top skill is his passing ability; he sees the court tremendously well for a center and is a terrific passer from the paint. He also has pretty good touch around the basket.

“I can play with my back to the basket and I rebound,” Wesson said. “I’m a great passer out of the post. I need to work on my conditioning and my post moves. I’m trying to expand my game.”

Kaleb holds early offers from Ohio State, Ioa andXavier, the latter of which has also offered his 2016 brother, Andre Wesson.

“I really like Xavier; it’s close to home and they offered my brother too,” Wesson said. “It would always be good to play with your brother in college.”

Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Stanford and Boston are other schools showing interest in Wesson, who says location will play a factor in his recruitment.

“I’d like to stay close to home,” he said. “I want my family to be able to see me play and to be able to go back any time.”
