Hardy holds three early offers

Elijah Hardy is en emerging 2018 point guard from the Bay Area with three early scholarship offers.

One of the better 2018 point guards on the West Coast comes from Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O’Dowd in 6-foot-1, 155-pound Elijah Hardy.

A very quick point guard, Hardy possesses impressive vision and is a specialist in transition, where his handle, speed and passing ability make him a tough player to stop.

“I get other people the ball, get assists and I’m a great team player on and off the court,” Hardy said. “I always encourage my teammates to do positive things.

“I’m working on a consistent jump shot, not always making the home run play and always having effort every time down.”

So far, Hardy holds offers from California, Montana and Nevada, with Notre Dame showing him interest.

California is a school that he grew up a fan of since he grew up in the area.

“Cal is a great school,” Hardy said. “I’m around it a lot since I live 15 minutes from there. It’s a great environment and great people.

“Coach (Cuonzo) Martin, coach Yanni (Hufnagel) and coach (Tracy) Webster are great coaches. They’re bringing in some good guys this year and it’s a good school.”

There is still a ways to go before Hardy makes a decision but he knows what he’ll be looking for in a school.

“Good academics; I need to get an education since I can always get hurt,” he said. “Also, a high tempo place where I can run the show.”
