Vanover improving stock

Connor Vanover is a 2018 center who used an impressive week at the USA Basketball 16u trials to improve his stock.

It was an impressive USA Basketball 16u trials for Connor Vanover, a 2018 post from Little Rock (Ark.) Baptist.

The 7-foot-3, 210-pound center obviously has tremendous size, but he also is a terrific shooter for the position and is a very big threat to hit midrange and perimeter jumpers.

Defensively, Vanover does a nice job blocking shots and securing rebounds..

“I shoot, I’m a good rebounder and I try to hustle,” Vanover said. “I need to work on defense, getting stronger and driving.”

Vanover holds interest from North Carolina Virginia, Iowa, Arkansas, Baylor and Kansas, with one of those schools being a childhood favorite of his.

“I grew up an Arkansas fan because I grew up in Arkansas and my mom was a Razorback,” Vanover said.

“They just have a good program. I like their coaches, their team is good and they’re getting better. I like them. I think campus is really nice.”

Vanover says he isn’t sure when he wants to make a decision but has somewhat of an idea what he’ll be looking for in a school.

“I’m looking for a place I can fit in and do really well,” he said.
