First Evaluation Period Preview

Scout's basketball recruiting team -- Evan Daniels, Josh Gershon, Brian Snow & Rob Harrington -- will be out in full force during the July evaluation period. What are the big events and who is expected to participate? Scout takes a look.

Nike Peach Jam

Where: North Augusta, South Carolina

When: July 8-12

Reporting Staff: Brian Snow, Evan Daniels, Rob Harrington

Top Teams: Arkansas Wings, Team Final, Team Penny, Albany City Rocks, CP3 All-Stars, Cal Supreme, Georgia Stars, Team Takeover, City Rocks, Houston Hoops, Pro Skills, PSA Cardinals, New Jersey Playaz, Mac Irvin Fire, The Family, Each 1 Teach 1, King James, St. Louis Eagles, MoKan Elite, Las Vegas Prospect, Athletes First, Oakland Soldiers, BABC, Elfrid Payton Elite, NY Lightning

Top Players: Michael Porter, Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles, Jeremiah Tilmon, Dere Funderburk, Xavier Simpson, V.J. King, D.J. Harvey, Wendell Carter, Austin Wiley, Cassius Winston, Miles Bridges, Brandon McCoy, Trae Young, De’Aaron Fox, Marques Bolden, Jarred Vanderbilt, Udoka Azibuike, Jonathon Isaac, Alterique Gilbert, Mohamed Bamba, Marvin Bagley, Kevin Huerter

Looking Forward To: The top 24 Nike sponsored teams in the country all go at it this week at their annual finale spot of the Peach Jam. One of the more exciting things will be the return of Tyus Battle and how he plays in his first true game action in a while. Also will Harry Giles continue to dominate, does De’Aaron Fox emerge as one of the truly elite prospects in the class, and will anybody have an answer for the impressive Georgia Stars frontline. With so much talent and an intense atmosphere, Peach Jam is always one of the best places to watch some of the top teams in the country do battle.

Adidas Uprising Finale

Where: Atlanta

When: July 8-11

Reporting Staff: Brian Snow, Evan Daniels & Rob Harrington

Top Teams: Team Loaded NC, Team Loaded VA, Atlanta Celtics, Ohio Basketball Club, Mass Rivals, Dream Vision, Michigan Mustangs, New Orleans Elite, Florida Elite, NY Rens, Hoop Dreams, Game Elite, Upward Stars, Compton Magic, Indiana Elite, Utah Prospects, Team Wall, Urban DFW, MBA Hoops, Texas P.R.O.

Top Players: Dennis Smith, Edrice Adebayo, Frank Jackson, Kobi Simmons, T.J. Leaf, Kyle Guy, Matthew Moyer, Brian Bowen, Quentin Goodin, Braxton Blackwell, James Banks, Vance Jackson, Javin DeLaurier, Mamadi Diakite, Jalen Hill, DeRiante Jenkins, Rawle Alkins, Mustapha Heron, Jethro Tshisumpa, Lamar Peters, Josh Langford, Jaylen Hands, Nolan Narain, Payton Pritchard.

Looking Forward To: Adidas conducted only two events during the spring, while Nike and Under Armour operated three apiece. For that reason, then, we haven't yet spent as much time on the Uprising Circuit. Top priorities will be watching the elite point guards compete, as well as some of the guys coming off successful NBPA Camps. Of course, where possible, we'll also take the time to catch some underclass action as well. The Adidas circuit has been well-received this year and this event will feature the Gauntlet's best teams slugging it out before what will be throngs of college coaches.

Elite 100, Double Pump Summer Tip-Off

Where: Southern California

When: July 8-12

Reporting Staff: Josh Gershon

Top Teams: Arizona Power Black, Team Superstar, Team Eleate, Big Ballers VXT Black, Double Pump Elite, Team Bradley NW Panthers, UBC Elite, Team Bibby, Pump N'Run Elite, Las Vegas Knicks, San Diego All-Stars

Top Players: Josh Jackson, M.J. Cage, DeAndre Ayton, Cameron Satterwhite, Billy Preston, Terrell Gomez, Jayce Johnson, Richard Polanco, Mitch Lightfoot, Vittorio Reynoso-Avila, Ajani Kennedy, Trevor Stanback, Lonzo Ball, Christian Popoola, Mike Bibby, Jr., Greg Floyd, Justin Moore

Looking Forward To: The Elite 100 looks to be a camp setting with a very good mix of young West Coast prospects and, later in the week, previously established elite prospects. The Double Pump Summer Tip-Off is more a classic AAU team setting and has some good talent in a more competitive environment. Both events will give Scout the opportunity to see many of the West Coast's top 2016, 2017 and 2018 prospects.

Hoop Seen’s Best of the South

Where: Suwannee, Ga.

When: July 9-12

Reporting Staff: Brian Snow, Evan Daniels, Rob Harrington

Top Teams: Alabama Challenge, Southern Stampede, Team Rose, Wisconsin Playgroun Elite, Southeast Elite (Fla.), All-Ohio Red, The Travelers, We All Can Go, Team Speights Elite

Looking Forward To: Justin Young and his staff at Hoop Seen always do a great job of snagging teams in the South, but this year they also picked up a handful of Nike sponsored squads that aren’t participating in Peach Jam. The Suwannee Sports Academy is where Jonathan Isaac emerged last spring and with an event of this magnitude and with this amount of teams, there’s sure to be a guy that emerges from the crowd and onto the national stage. The question is who will it be?
