Double Pump: Saben Lee

ANAHEIM, Calif. - It's been a successful start of the July Evaluation Period for Saben Lee, who has quickly added five scholarship offers.

As a sophomore at Tempe (Ariz.) Corona Del Sol, Saben Lee probably had more frustrations than he was hoping for.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard just happens to play at the same school as one of the West Coast's top 2017 point guard prospects in Alex Barcello, which leads to a lot of time backing up the one and playing off the ball.

Further, Lee missed time due to an injury to his tibia, slowing his production and on court time.

But if the 2017 prospect has any complaints about his role or sophomore year, he doesn't verbalize them. And he's making up time with his recruitment quickly.

In the first 24 hours of the July Evaluation Period, the Arizona Power AAU standout picked up his first five offers, coming Northern Colorado, Portland State, Portland, Weber State and Grand Canyon. He's also hearing from Nebraska, San Diego State, Creighton, Eastern Washington and Stanford.

Both lists are going to increase quickly. Lee is a very athletic point guard with good size and length and a terrific feel for the game.

Lee's speed and athleticism help him in transition, as he breezes up and down the court and either finds teammates for open buckets or gets to the rim himself.

He has a high basketball IQ, controls the game and while he needs to keep improving as a shooter, there is so much working for him as that's coming along that he's going to always help his team win regardless.

Lee has easily been one of the breakout performers of the Double Pump Summer Tip Off.
