Peach Jam: Marvin Bagley

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- One of the premier prospects at the Nike Peach Jam isn't playing in the 17's division. Marvin Bagley, a 6-foot-10 power forward, is averaging 29 points and 14 rebounds a game in the Nike Sweet 16.

While Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum, De’Aaron Fox, Miles Bridges and Malik Monk are the premier players in the 17’s division, Marvin Bagley is the star of the Sweet 16 at Nike’s Peach Jam.

Bagley is known as the best prospect in the 2018 class and when Scout released the Ultimate 100 (top 100 prospects regardless of class) this past February, he ranked No. 8 in the country.

Bagley has certainly lived up to those expectations this spring and summer and at the Peach Jam, with dozens of college coaches looking on, he's put up 29 points and 14 rebounds a game.

On Saturday afternoon with his team facing elimination against Team CP3, Bagley rose to the occasion by scoring 28 points on 9-for-12 shooting and reeling in 13 rebounds. At 6-foot-10, Bagley has good size and length for the power forward position, plus he’s a high flyer that gets off the ground quickly.

Defensively he’s a threat to block shots and is a very good rebounder. On the other end, the southpaw has a good skill level. He likes the face the rim and can make shots out past the three-point line. He’s 4-for-9 from three on the weekend. He has good touch around the goal, is active on the offense glass and will run the floor for easy buckets in transition. Bagley.

At this point, Bagley hasn’t released a list of schools, but the head coaches that watched him against Team CP3 were Bobby Hurley, Sean Miller, Mike Krzyzewski, John Groce, Danny Manning, John Calipari, Cuonzo Martin and Tony Bennett.
