“I think it was a good camp,” said Fultz. “I got their a little late off the plane, so my first game I tried to get going early, and after that I think I did a good job of scoring all game and played with a high motor the whole time. That is something I have been working on a lot, so I think the camp went well.” At the camp Fultz was watched by Kentucky boss John Calipari, and that turned into an offer. About the offer, Fultz said, “It was really another blessing to come my way. It showed that the hard work I put in is still paying off. It shows I am doing something right and I need to keep doing that. It is definitely an offer I was looking for, so that was a good thing.” He continued, “Coach Calipari was just telling me that I could be the first guard to commit there, and that they are going to bring in other guards. They are a school that has guys go to the league every year, so they can’t just bring in one or two players, and I understand that. He thinks I have a very bright future and that he likes the way I play and how I have developed my game.” While Fultz doesn’t hide the fact that he has long been looking for a UK offer, he also makes it clear he isn’t ready to jump on anything, and wants to go through the process. “I am just keeping all schools in mind right now, and I will hopefully try and narrow down my list after the UA Finals in Atlanta,” said Fultz. About the Under Armour Finals, Fultz said he is coming in focused, “My mindset coming into Atlanta is to take no prisoners. I am just going to come in being aggressive, scoring a lot, and hopefully leading my team to the championship.”
Fultz starts strong and adds big offer
As one would expect it was a good start to the summer for Markelle Fultz. At the Under Armour All-American Camp, Fultz was the leading scorer and proved he can matchup with any guard in the nation. With his athleticism, assertiveness, and ability to score from all three levels on the court Fultz put on a show for all to see, and overall he was happy with his play.
