What makes Williams such an impressive prospect is his versatility. On the offensive end he is more than capable of playing the point guard or the shooting guard role. His athleticism and toughness allow him to finish around the rim, while his ability to change speeds and solid floor vision also allow him to run a team. Then on the defensive end Williams has extremely long arms, and solid lateral movement which at 6-foot-2 lets him guard virtually any type of perimeter player. He showed all that ability and more on Thursday, and really proved himself as one of the better guards in his 2017 class. Recruiting wise Williams listed South Carolina, Northwestern, Illinois, Bradley, and UIC as schools showing him attention and ones he has noticed at his games.
NY2LA: DaMonte Williams
It was another event, and another time where the four-star guard shined for the mac Irvin Fire. DaMonte Williams was absolutely tremendous in an afternoon win in which he did a little bit of everything for his team.
