Recruiting wise things have been really picking up for Lucas since the NBPA Top 100 Camp, and he had a lot of heavy hitters watching him this week. “Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, and a lot of high-majors said they will be looking at me,” said Lucas. In particular John Beilein watched three of Lucas’ games, and Lucas says the Wolverines have always been a team he has followed closely. “When I grew up I always wanted to go to Michigan or Michigan State,” explained Lucas. “I like the Michigan program a lot and how they do things. I think it could be a good fit for how I play.” Another program that was at nearly every one of his games was Minnesota. About the Golden Gophers, Lucas said, “Basically they are just looking at me and like the way I play. They say they need a point guard, and feel that I would fit in well with how they play.” Fran McCaffery of Iowa was also a constant presence at his games, and Lucas says he wants to take a long look at the Hawkeyes. “Iowa is a pretty good program,” said Lucas. “I haven’t watched them a lot lately, but I will take a close look at how I would fit in and keep talking with their coaching staff.” At this point the plan for Lucas is to play out July and see what offers come in before making any kind of decision.
