Duling continues to add interest

Forward B.J. Duling continues to add interest with his strong play this summer.

There was a strong buzz this year coming out of Ohio about the emergence of forward B.J. Duling. The class of 2017 prospect has grown and really improved his skill level, and now the recruiting interest continues to follow.

About his improvement, Duling said, “I have been working on my shot and my ball handling a lot. I also have been focused on my mid-range game.”

He feels that work has paid off with good summer playing with All-Ohio Red.

“It has been a great summer,” explained Duling. “I have been playing a lot of positions on the court. It has been a lot of work every day, but I feel I am getting better.”

Coming into the summer Duling had mostly mid-major attention, but now he is getting significant looks from high-major schools.

Iowa and Dayton offered and Xavier is really interested and then Ohio University, Toledo, Akron and a few others,” noted Duling.

Iowa was the first high-major offer for Duling, and he said it was big to get that one.

“That was crazy to get that offer,” said Duling of the Hawkeyes. “I was talking to the coach for a bit and he told me I have an offer, and I was thankful for that.”

Dayton is a school that Duling had a chance to visit during the season, and he is impressed with the Flyer program.

“I know that they have a great basketball program,” said Duling of the Flyers. “The fans are crazy there, they have great coaches, and it seems like a great place to be.”

For now Duling is focused on improving his game and gaining information about all of the schools recruiting him.
