Las Vegas: Timmy Allen
It’s early into evaluating 2018 but one prospect that has emerged as one of the top small forwards on the west in the class is Timmy Allen. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward from Mesa (Ariz.) Desert Ridge, who plays AAU with Compton Magic, has decent size, long arms and a body that suggests he could still be growing. Allen has a very high basketball IQ, has a nice feel as a rebounder, can hit the open jumper or put the ball on the ground and finish above the rim. “I attack the rim, hit open shots and threes,” Allen said. “I’m working on my pull-up jumper and ball handling.” The rising sophomore listed an offer from Portland State along with interest from San Diego State and TCU. “I’m looking for whichever school fits me best,” Allen said. “Academics have to be good.”
