Battle of Borders: Markelle Fultz

BURLINGTON, NJ - Markelle Fultz was tremendous again in a big game on Wednesday night

The summer rise of Markelle Fultz has been impressive, and he continues that with his play on Wednesday night. In an atmosphere where the play can get sloppy at times, Fultz was in total control and showed why he is one of the top prospects in the country.

After a bit of a sluggish start, things picked up in a big way for Fultz. The five-star guard decided he needed to take over the game for his team, and that is exactly what he did. Fultz showed off his full arsenal of moves and also a nice scoring touch.

The most impressive part of Fultz’ game is his ability to create off the dribble. Fultz has good strength, a nice handle, and major athleticism that allows him to overpower defenders as well as beat them to a spot. Once he is able to rise up, typically good things happen.

While his scoring was no doubt impressive, Fultz was also really good passing the basketball. He set up several teammates for easy buckets in the halfcourt, and then threw a few tremendous outlet passes as well.

Fultz is close to narrowing down his list, but hasn’t done so yet. At the game tonight was Washington boss Lorenzo Romar, Maryland’s Mark Turgeon, and Ohio State’s Thad Matta along assistants from Arizona, Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, and NC State.
