Las Vegas: J'Raan Brooks
The Northwest has a talented 2018 prospect in 6-foot-8, 205-pound Seattle Garfield forward J’Raan Brooks. The rising sophomore has good size and length and plays with a high motor. He has a nice feel and uses his instincts, effort and size to grab rebounds. Brooks sees the court well and is a strong passer out of the paint. He projects as more of a four man for now but has some face up skills and may be able to defend multiple positions. “I’m an agile big,” Brooks said. “I can play in the post and on the wing. I’m still working on my shooting and ball handling.” Brooks listed interest from Washington, Oregon State, Arizona, Memphis and Gonzaga. As of now, Brooks says he’s more focused on his game than recruitment.
