Las Vegas: Payton Pritchard

LAS VEGAS - Payton Pritchard, who recently opened up his recruitment, is hearing from several programs.

Payton Pritchard has had no shortage of suitors since the 6-foot-1, 180-pound point guard decommitted from Oklahoma.

The 2016 prospect from West Linn (Ore.) says that Kansas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Baylor, Louisville, California, Arizona State and Oregon are the schools which have reached out since opening up his recruitment.

“It’s all the same right now,” Pritchard said. “I’m keeping it open until after July. I won’t start taking recruiting seriously until August. There are a bunch of schools in the mix right now. “

There are at least a school schools which Pritchard could see before making another decision.

“I think I want to visit Oregon and Oklahoma,” he said. “I’ve visited Oklahoma a lot but Oregon is right down the street so I’ll probably visit there.”

Oregon’s proximity could help the program in its recruitment of the four-star prospect.

“It’s the hometown school, coach (Dana) Altman is a great coach and they’re getting great players in there,” Pritchard said.

As for Oklahoma, Pritchard says the Sooners are still in the mix.

“I still like them a lot,” he said.

The rising senior plans on taking his time to make sure he comes up with the right decision.

“I’m wide open,” Pritchard said. “I’m looking for the best fit. I just want to be take all of my official visits and make sure I’m 100% sure.”
