Four-star Daniel Gafford pledges to Arkansas

Arkansas added their first verbal commitment of the 2017 class on Saturday when Daniel Gafford pledged to the Mike Anderson and the Razorbacks.

Daniel Gafford committed to Arkansas during an unofficial visit on Saturday, a source told Scout.

Gafford picked Arkansas over interest from a host of schools, including scholarship offers from Florida, Kansas and a host of other schools.

As a sophomore at El Dorado (Ark.) High, Gafford averaged 13.4 points, 14.4 rebounds and just over six blocks a game.

Gafford, who ranks No. 39 overall in the 2017 class, is Arkansas first verbal commitment of the class.

Regard as the No. 11 center in the class, Gafford broke out at Nike's Elite 100 in June. He continued his strong play in the summer at the Nike Peach Jam with the Arkansas Wings in the 16's division.
