2016 Arizona post Mitch Lightfoot has narrowed his school list to five. The rising senior breaks down his final five with Scout.
has narrowed his school list down to five and is closer to making a decision.
The 6-foot-7, 200-pound 2016 post from Gilbert (Ariz.) Christian announced on Sunday that he's narrowed his school list to Arizona
, Saint John's, Stanford
Lightfoot broke down what he likes about each of his five finalists.
: "I love coach (Sean) Miller and how he coaches. He has an up-tempo, in your face style and I fit into that. It's great location; I lived in Tucson for 12 years so I know a lot about it and have a lot of friends down there."
: "I'm from Kansas so I've watched them for a long time and was raised with Kansas. All my family from over there are Kansas fans. They have a great program; they've won national championships and they develop players."
: "Coach (Chris) Mullin played on the Dream Team and it's New York. I think they're the one place that could 'wow' me that I didn't know about before. They play in Madison Square Garden, they have coach Mullin and it's an awesome fan base."
: "You can't go wrong with their education; that's their greatest asset. Coach (Johnny) Dawkins played in the NBA and knows how to coach. They have an awesome campus and have two players from Arizona - Dorian Pickens
and Michael Humphrey
- so it would be cool having people there from my area."
: "Coach (Larry) Krystkowiak played my position in the NBA so it goes without saying he can get me to the next level and help me become a better player. The facilities out there are amazing; they're building a new practice facility and it's awesome."
The rising senior has already officially visited Stanford and has one of his four other trips scheduled so far.
"I'm going to Utah on Sept. 5," said Lightfoot.
Lightfoot is currently working on setting up official visits to Arizona, Kansas and Saint John's. He'll visit all of the schools on his list and make a decision soon afterwards.
"I'll probably decide at the end of September or a little after that," he said.
