Process moving forward for Jarrett Allen

The recruiting process continues to move forward for five-star center Jarrett Allen.

Not too many players had a better summer than five-star center Jarrett Allen. On the AAU circuit he showed his combination of tremendous size and athleticism with improving skill. Now Allen continues to move forward with his game and his recruitment.

About his summer, Allen said, “It was a good summer. It went better than I expected. I didn’t think I would be getting as much attention as I am now, so it turned out real good.”

Allen continued, “I think I showed my right hook over my left shoulder, and just improving as a scorer helped college coaches see what I can do.”

When it comes to his recruitment, a lot of schools continue to be in close contact with Allen.

“I have been hearing from Kentucky, Texas, Baylor, Kansas State, Kansas, Houston, Indiana, and North Carolina,” said Allen.

About the North Carolina interest, Allen said, “We talk a lot and they are trying to get to know me and I am trying to get to know them. It has been good so far.”

The Texas campus is located just minutes from Allen’s school, and Allen says he has built a close relationship with Shaka Smart since the Longhorn boss got the job.

“(Smart) came to my school and made it clear that he wants me,” said Allen. “They are 15 minutes away so it is a program I am real familiar with.”

For now Allen is in no hurry to make a decision, and says he will begin to have a more clear focus of things in a few weeks.

“I know I am going to narrow down my list this month, but that is all I know,” said Allen.
