ALERT: Purdue lands Carsen Edwards
The Purdue Boilermakers absolutely had to land a point guard in the class of 2016, and on Tuesday night they got their man. Texas native Carsen Edwards joined the fold. Edwards is an extremely athletic floor general who can also play off the ball. He first began to get serious interest from Purdue during the month of April, and the Boilermakers have been all in on him ever since. Purdue brought Edwards in for an official visit during the month of June, and since then they have led in this recruitment. Along with Purdue, Edwards had significant interest from SMU, Vanderbilt, and Kansas State among others. In the end though, it was Purdue that had done the most work and got the commitment. Throughout the process Edwards has mentioned that academics would be very important, and on his visit he was extremely intrigued with the engineering program at Purdue as well as the opportunity to get early minutes at the school.
