Visits coming soon for Kevin Marfo

Kevin Marfo impressed many coaches with his play during July, and now he is sorting through a long list of schools.

One of the breakout players during the month of July was BABC center Kevin Marfo. Marfo really showed well for himself at the Peach Jam, and has been picking up major recruiting interest ever since.

“I think I played pretty well in the summer, especially during the live period,” said Marfo. “I showed what I can do, especially on the low block. I had really good teammates who made me look good, and as a team and individually I thought things went well.”

Recruiting wise Marfo says he remains in close contact with a long list of schools.

“I am hearing a lot from Georgia Tech, Providence, Pittsburgh, George Washington, Minnesota, DePaul, St. Joe’s, and some other schools,” said Marfo.

A measured kid who wants to take a thorough look at everything, Marfo doesn’t plan to rush into any decision, but he knows how he wants to move forward in the process.

“I am going to figure that all my visits out in September,” explained Marfo. “I will decide who I will take official visits to, and then go from there.”

While he doesn’t know who will be on his final list or who will visit officially, Marfo does know what he is looking for in a school.

“Definitely academics are very important,” explained Marfo. “Also I am looking at the alumni of the school and a place that I can fit in and get a really good degree. Beyond that playing for a coach who can really develop my game is very important.”
