Kobi Simmons changes plans

NEW YORK CITY - Five-star Kobi Simmons has a change in his official visit plans.

Things in recruiting have a way of changing quickly and without too much notice, and that is the case with five-star point guard Kobi Simmons. Simmons had three visits set, but now the schools and dates of those trips have changed.

After having played with the Atlanta Celtics all summer, Simmons is finishing things out at the Elite 24, and he says it has been a good time.

“It has been a great experience,” said Simmons. “We have already started school so it has been busy, but this is a great experience being able to come out here and compete against these guys at a high level.”

Recently Simmons had visits set to Ohio State, Kentucky, and Xavier, but now the Musketeers visit is off, and Simmons has added a new school to his list.

“I have Kentucky next weekend, UNLV September 4, and then Ohio State on September 11,” said Simmons.

He continued about the change in plans, “UNLV has always been in the background, and I set the visit with them a little while ago, but I just never put it out there.”

The Ohio State trip was originally set for September 18, but Simmons said he wanted to move the visits closer together.

“I just bumped that one up a week so that I could take things back to back,” explained Simmons of the move.

Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina are also publicly on the list, but Simmons says those schools might not get visits.

“I am not sure right now,” said of future visit plans. “Right now those are the only three I want to visit, but I still have to talk to my parents.”

For now Simmons doesn’t know when a decision will come, but he does know it could come at any time, it is just a matter of when he is most comfortable.
