Two visits set for Dewan Huell

NEW YORK CITY - Dewan Huell has set two definite official visits, and then a third school who will get a trip has well

Five-star interior prospect Dewan Huell is in the center of one of the more intense recruiting battles in the class of 2016. The native of the Sunshine State has local powers on him, and showed his enormous potential over the summer.

With his combination of size, length, and athleticism, Huell impressed many this summer with his play even if he thinks he could have done much better.

“I think I played well, but I know I could have played way better,” said Huell. “That said I had a good summer.”

One the recruiting trail Huell has numerous offers, and right now two official visits have been set up.

“I have a few visits set up, but I am not sure the dates,” noted Huell. “I know I have a visit planned with Florida State and South Carolina.”

The Seminoles have long been considered one of the leaders for Huell, and he says he has a tremendous relationship with the coaching staff.

“I talk to the coaches every day,” said Huell. “They call and text me every day and we have a real good relationship. I am looking forward to the visit.”

Like Huell, South Carolina head coach Frank Martin is a native of South Florida, and Huell likes the Gamecocks program.

“Coach Martin is a real cool guy,” said Huell. “I like what he has been telling me. We have been talking a lot, and I just like the program. The coaches just get stuff done and make their players better.”

While no official has been set up with the local Miami Hurricanes, Huell does know he will visit the program as well.

“They are still really up there,” said Huell of Miami. “I know I am going to visit there as well, but I haven’t set it up. I go to their campus all the time for open gyms and stuff, but I haven’t planned that official visit yet.”

For now Huell is just focused on making his visits and figuring out as much information as he can about all the schools on his list. That said he does know what he is looking for in a program.

“I am just looking for a place that feels like home and somewhere that I can be focused and succeed,” said Huell.
