Mario Kegler talks visits

Mario Kegler is about to begin making official visits.

Four-star forward Mario Kegler is one of the best players in the South, and has a whole host of schools showing him significant recruiting attention. After a strong summer with MBA Hoops, Kegler is ready to begin making visits.

“I think I played good this summer, and everything just went well,” said Kegler.

Throughout his recruitment Kegler has kept things tight lipped about who is seriously in the mix. Still it is known that Indiana, Arizona State, LSU, Mississippi State, Maryland, and Oklahoma State all have significant interest in Kegler.

About his recruitment, Kegler said, “As of right now I am still open. I don’t know when I am going to commit, but I know I am going to make some visits.”

Recently Kegler had a chance to make the trip to Starkville to meet with Mississippi State boss Ben Howland, and he says the visit went well.

“They are local, so I have built a good relationship with them,” said Kegler. “I went there two weeks ago and talked to Coach Howland, so we have a great relationship.”

Kegler continued about the meeting with Howland, “He was telling me good things, and the visit was great. I had a good time.”

Another school that seems like it will definitely get a visit is Indiana.

About the Hoosiers, Kegler said, “I want to see what the coaches are like and what the living is like up there. Also I want to talk to the players and see what they like and they dislike.”

Arizona State is a school that has been closely linked to Kegler for a while, and the forward says he has a strong bond with the coaches in Tempe.

“I have known Coach Merritt for a long time, and we talk almost every day,” said Kegler. “Arizona State is a great school and I will probably visit there as well.”

Kegler, who is set to attend Oak Hill Academy, doesn’t have a set timeframe to announce his college decision.
