Schnider Herard cuts list to 5, sets 3 visits

One of the top center prospects in the 2016 class -- Schnider Herard -- has cut his list of schools down to five and set up a trio of official visits.

Schnider Herard has narrowed his list to five schools, according to his guardian Derrick Shelby.

Herard, Scout’s No. 39 player in the 2016 recruiting class, is down to California, Kansas, Purdue, Mississippi State and Texas Tech.

Shelby also informed Scout that they have set up a trio of official visits.

“We are going to Mississippi State from September 11th through the 13th,” Shelby said. "Then we’ll do an official visit with Texas Tech from September 25th to the 27th and then Kansas on October 9th to the 11th.

Four of the five schools have set in-home visits as well. On September 9th, Mississippi State and Kansas will conduct visits. Then on September 10th, Texas Tech and Purdue will be in. California has been in Australia and has yet to set an in-home.

“We will definitely do one to California too,” Shelby said.

A four-star prospect, Herard is a 6-foot-10, 260-pound burly center out of Plano (Tex.) Prestonwood Christian. Herard spent the spring and summer playing for Nike Pro Skills on the EYBL circuit.
