One of the more physically imposing players in the class of 2018 is Carte'Are Gordon. The 6-foot-8 Gordon showed off his impressive ability all summer long, and finished things out with a nice performance at the Purdue Elite Camp.
“It was a good summer,” said Gordon. “As a team we won four championships in a row so that was really good, and individually I felt like I played well.”
On the recruiting trail Gordon already has a host of offers.
“I have offers from Purdue, Missouri, Illinois, Kansas State, Iowa, Cincinnati, and UNLV,” listed Gordon.
At the Purdue Elite Camp is when Gordon added his offer from the Boilermakers, and he was impressed with the coaches and what he saw of the campus.
“I had a visit and it was great,” said Gordon. “I like Purdue a lot. I like everything they do, and Mackey Arena is great, so it is a school I really like.”
Gordon hasn’t yet had a chance to visit Illinois, but he also likes the early things he is hearing from the school.
“The coaches are real good coaches,” said Gordon. “I hope to visit there soon, and it is a school I am really interested in.”
Also Gordon has an offer from Missouri, and living in the state he is familiar with the program and has had consistent communication with the Tigers
“I have talked to Kim Anderson and watched a few of their games, so I know they have a good program and it is a school I like,” noted Gordon.
For now things are just at the beginning stages for Gordon, but with an improving skill set and a mindset to dominate on the low block there is no doubt that Gordon will see his stock continue to increase as times goes on.
