2016 PG Cassius Winston cuts list

One of the top point guards in the 2016 class -- Cassius Winston -- is down to a trio of schools.

Senior point guard Cassius Winston cut his list down to three schools early Wednesday.

Winston, Scout's No. 28 prospect, is now down to Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Stanford. Michigan had been on his list, but the two parted ways.

Winston has already taken official visits to Pittsburgh and Stanford. He told Scout he will take his final official visit to Michigan State this coming weekend.

Tom Izzo met with Winston early Wednesday morning, he told Scout. Jamie Dixon and Johnny Dawkins are expected to meet with him on Thursday.

When will Winston make his college choice?

"Hopefully by the end of September or beginning of October," Winston said.

A four-star recruit, Winston is regarded as the No. 7 point guard in the 2016 recruiting class.
