Trevor Stanback to take second official visit

Trevor Stanback, one of the West Coast's top centers in 2016, will take his second official visit this weekend. The four-star prospect updates his recruitment.

Trevor Stanback, a 6-foot-10, 220-pound center from Pasadena (Calif.) Maranatha, is making some headway with his recruitment.

Scout's 70th ranked 2016 prospect, Stanback will take an official visit to Colorado this weekend.

"I've seen them play a couple times," Stanback said. "I'm very excited to see them and learn more about their team and program."

Last weekend, Stanback took his first official visit, taking a short trip south to San Diego State.

"San Diego is beautiful, it's close enough where my family can come to my games, all the coaches are really genuine, they have a good group of guys player and personality wise, and I like the way they use their bigs," he said.

Stanback has a third official visit scheduled as he plans to trip to Stanford on Sept. 25.

"I know the experience of [Johnny Dawkins] and I like the way he uses his bigs," Stanback said. "It's obviously a great school academically."

There are three other schools still remaining on Stanback's list, as USC, N.C. State and Oregon are all still in contention to receive visits.

"I'm going to see how these three official visits go and then I have two more official visits I can take so it just depends what happens," Stanback said.

The rising senior broke down what he likes about his other three finalists.

USC: "They were one of the first schools to recruit me and were my first offer. They stuck with me when I was injured. They have the opportunity for me to play as a freshman."

NC State: "I took an unofficial there last summer and it was cool. I still don't know much about the program but I'm looking forward to getting to know them better."

Oregon: "I like the coaches, the coaching style and the type of players they have."

Stanback says that all the schools on his list are currently even, but he does have an idea when he wants to make a decision.

"I'm hoping to make a decision before basketball season starts," Stanback said.
