Class of 2018 Intro: Tyler Herro

Shooting guard Tyler Herro already has high-major offers and numerous schools are turning up the heat on the recruiting trail.

Colleges continue to take a long look at 2018 shooting guard Tyler Herro. The versatile Herro was very solid over the summer with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors, and now numerous schools are beginning to make Herro a major priority.

“The summer went real well,” said Herro. “As a team we played really well, and I think the summer overall was very good.”

He continued, “I have been working on my dribbling skills, more consistency with my jumper, and trying to work in the post some as well.”

Recruiting wise numerous schools are in the mix for Herro, and he has picked up some early offers.

“I have offers from Creighton, DePaul, Sam Houston State, Milwaukee, and Green Bay,” noted Herro.

About the offer from DePaul, Herro said, “It felt very good. I didn’t really know them, and it came out of the blue, but I was happy to get that offer.”

Also interested in Herro are schools like Marquette, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, and Minnesota.

Recently Herro went to the Purdue Elite Camp, and he said it was a good experience.

“I like the atmosphere and the coaches seem like good guys, so I like Purdue,” said Herro for Purdue.

It is clearly still very early in the process, but Herro knows what he is looking for in a school and what he pays attention to when talking to coaches.

“I am going to look for how I fit into an offense, how the coaches are, the facilities, and the area stuff like that,” explained Herro.
