Virginia lands DeAndre Hunter

The Virginia Cavaliers landed another quality pledge in their 2016 class with the commitment of DeAndre Hunter.

Virginia kept their very solid momentum going on the recruiting trail late on Saturday night when the Cavaliers landed wing DeAndre Hunter. The Philadelphia native was tremendous during the month of July, and that led to a host of offers.

Schools such as Miami, Maryland, Villanova, Temple, Penn State, and Arkansas all made strong pushes for Hunter, but at the end of the day it was Virginia that landed his commitment.

At around 6-foot-8, Hunter is someone who can play a variety of different roles on a team. He is bet on the wing as a small forward who attacks from the outside, but he also has enough length and athleticism to defend a power forward when teams go smaller.

This is the fourth commitment for Virginia in the class. It is one of the top classes in the country.
