De'Riante Jenkins is narrowing down his list, Upward Stars coach Curt Wheeler told Scout.
Jenkins, who had narrowed his list to 10 following July, is now strongly considering VCU, Tennessee, Rutgers and Clemson, plus also has South Carolina, Georgia Tech and LSU involved.
Jenkins has already taken official visits to VCU and Tennessee. Next up is Rutgers the weekend of September 25th. He'll follow that up with a trip to Clemson the weekend of October 2nd. That leaves Jenkins with one official visit remaining.
South Carolina has had him on campus twice for unofficial visits, but there's still a chance he could schedule the remaining visit with them, Georgia Tech or LSU.
Tennessee coach Rick Barnes is scheduled to meet with Jenkins' mom for an in-home visit on Monday.
According to Wheeler, Jenkins isn't too far from a college choice.
"The plan is to sign early in the fall," he said.
A four-star prospect, Jenkins, who is finishing his high school career at Chatham (Va.) Hargrave, is regarded as Scout's No. 57 overall prospect in the 2016 recruiting class.
