2016 PF Quate McKinzie commits to Buffalo

North Carolina native Quate McKinzie committed to Buffalo Monday afternoon.

2016 power forward Quate' McKinzie verbally committed to Nate Oats and Buffalo, he told Scout.

"Me, my mom and my dad, over the summer, we had the best relationship with coaches Donyell Marshall and Nate Oats," McKinzie said. "Everyday they called me and ask me how I'm doing. I really took that in and it made me feel good."

McKinzi, of Harrells (N.C.) Christian Academy, also strongly considered Temple, UNC-Wilmington, UNC-Greensboro and Marshall. McKinzie visited Buffalo over Labor Day weekend and McKinzie said that trip sold him on the Bulls.

"When I went on my visit, I just fell in love," McKinzie said.

"It's all like a big family with them," he added. "The players and everybody get along. They are all competitive. I got a chance to play pick up game with them. I just felt like I was at home and that's what I was looking for in a school. I feel like I would enjoy Buffalo."

McKinzie played spring and summer ball with Team CP3 and is regarded as a three-star prospect.
