Two Leaders For Chris Ayer

Chris Ayer, one of the top post prospects in the west, has a list of five schools that he's still considering. Two in particular -- one in the WCC and one close to home -- have emerged as his leaders...

Chris Ayer, 6-10 C Tucson (Ariz.) Flowing Wells, is a player who helped himself with a very solid summer. A big kid, with a nice frame and an aggressive attitude, Chris has a terrific upside.

We spoke with Chris yesterday and he told us that he's considering five schools at this point -- Northern Arizona, St. Mary's, UTEP, Portland and Loyola Marymount.

In addition to in-home visits scheduled with each school, Chris will be taking an official visit to Loyola on Sept. 14th and then visit Portland and St. Mary's on the following weekends. He has already taken unofficial visits to Northern Arizona and UTEP.

We asked if any schools had emerged from the pack and Chris said, "Northern Arizona and Loyola." Asked if he would consider those schools his leaders, Chris said, "Yes."

When questioned about the appeal of those two schools, Chris replied, "Mainly the basketball staffs and the academics."

Chris told us that he plans on signing in the fall and could possibly verbal by the end of this month.
