Wenyen Gabriel, who recently jumped to No. 10 overall in the 2016 player rankings, is in the midst of official and in-home visits.
Gabriel got the official visit process started last weekend with a trip to Maryland, where he spent time with Mark Turgeon and his program.
"I’d say my favorite part of the visit was spending time with the team," Gabriel said about the trip. "[They are] a very high character group that I felt comfortable with. I also liked how clearly coach explained his plan for me and I felt like I could see myself playing there in the Xfinity center."
"They see me coming in and replacing Jake Layman's role at the three," he added. "They also have a really good weight program that impressed me as well."
Gabriel's next official visit will be the weekend of September 26th to Kentucky. He'll then go to Connecticut and Providence the next two weekends and close things out at Duke the weekend of October 17th.
"I’m still planning on taking all my visits," Gabriel said.
Gabriel is exected to meet with Connecticut on Monday, Duke on Tuesday, Kentucky on Wednesday and Maryland on Thursday, just before he heads off to Kentucky for his second official visit. All the visits will be at Wilbraham (Mass.) Wilbraham & Monson.
The five-star prospect told Scout that he hasn't set a timetable for making his college choice.
