Cowherd Wants Highest Level
In July, Steven Cowherd, while playing with Coast To Coast in Orlando, strung together a series of outstanding performances. Those performances led to increased interest from a number of schools, including a few high-majors. Cowherd seems to be leaning toward going to the highest level.
He's set up an official visit to Mississippi State for September 21. Richmond from the Atlantic 10 is next the weekend of Sept. 28 and Georgia Southern is the first weekend in October.
Cowherd also plans on visiting South Florida officially but the trip isn't set up yet and he might visit Central Florida.
Old Dominion was on his list, but is no longer. "Basically, I went to Richmond and Old Dominion for an unofficial and figured whichever one I liked better I would visit," Cowherd said. "Mississippi State is in the SEC and that's the big time. South Florida is close to home, but the location doesn't really matter."
If Cowherd decided to attend a small school, he would like to stay closer to home. Davidson had been on his list but is a little too far. SMU was also a possibility but the Ponies just got a commitment from Bryan Hopkins.
