Three-star combo forward Willie Jackson has been on the radar in the state of Ohio for quite some time. Hailing from the powerful Garfield Heights program, Jackson has competed at the highest level of the state playoffs while also being a key force for King James and Ohio Basketball Club on the AAU circuit.
Now at a press conference at his school, Jackson has made his commitment official. The tough and competitive Jackson is headed to the SEC where he will play for Kim Anderson and Missouri.
Recently Jackson took an official visit to the school and he came away impressed with what he saw, and that led to the Tigers landing his commitment over other interest from schools such as St. Joseph’s, Boston College, Temple, and Akron.
Look for Jackson to fill the role of athletic energizer for the Tigers. With his ability to play both the small forward and power forward on the defensive end, he will give energy and provide rebounding from both positions.
Jackson is at his best when he can be surrounded by a shooter at the other forward spot, which allows good floor spacing and the chance for him to really go to work in the mid-range and down low where he is at his best.
This is the second commitment for Missouri who is looking to re-build the roster under Anderson.
