K.J. Hymes is a promising 2018 recruit from Arizona and already has four early scholarship offers.
One of the top 2018 posts on the West Coast was in attendance at this weekend's Phase1 Hoops Top 40 Showcase in K.J. Hymes.
The 6-foot-10, 190-pound center from Phoenix St. Mary's didn't play since he was nursing a minor injury, but is happy with how his game has progressed since the end of the summer.
"Everything is coming along," Hymes said. "I'm getting bigger and stronger. My jumper and ball handling have improved. I think once I get stronger that I can really excel."
It hasn't taken Hymes long to pick up some scholarship offers, as Clemson, Grand Canyon, Memphis and Georgia Tech have all offered the sophomore.
"Memphis, out of what I have right now, best fits the way I play," Hymes said. "With their offense everybody eats. I really like Clemson's coaching staff and I like Georgia Tech's too. Grand Canyon is a good local option."
Hymes also listed California
, Arizona State
as schools showing him attention.
"I'll visit all of those schools in October," he said.
It's early in Hymes' recruitment and he's in no rush to get anything over with.
"I'm keeping all of my options open," Hymes said.
