USA Basketball: One-on-One with five-star PF Harry Giles

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Scout's top player -- Harry Giles -- discussed the recruiting process with Scout at the USA Basketball Men's National Team mini-camp.

Evan Daniels: Recruiting is starting to heat up, you took your first official visit to Wake Forest. How was that?

Harry Giles: It was good to go home. Going home is always incredible. They went all out for me. I expected it. It was really good. It was a good visit.

What stood out most to you about the Wake Forest visit?

Just that they really want me. I think because they want me to turn the city around and the program. Just the layouts they showed me and what I could do for the city. They went through history and stuff too. It was cool.

You have visits set for Kansas, Duke and Kentucky,  where do things stand with North Carolina?

I’m still trying to decide on that. It’s still up in the air right now.

There are only 31 top 100 players left and guys are just flying off the board, does that make you itch to make a college choice?

Yeah. Most definitely. Compared to all the other classes, a lot of the top players are committing early. It’s cool, but it makes you itchy too. It does.

Duke has been heavily on you, what’s your take on those guys right now?

Loaded class right wow. Have to give credit to them for getting the player they’ve got. I have three more visits coming up with Kansas next week, Kentucky and Duke, I’m excited for those three.

Your visit to Kansas is next weekend, is there anything you hope to learn on that trip?

I just want to go down and learn more and try to have fun. I definitely like coach Self. He talked to me at school last week. He said some good stuff.

Kentucky just added Wenyen Gabriel and have three commits, what’s their pitch been to you?

They told me that all the players can play with each other and help each other out. He’s still recruiting me and says he wants to coach me.
