This summer Myles Cale had an impressive showing with the South Jersey Jazz. On the Under Armour circuit Cale was one of the top performers at the 16-and under level, and now Cale continues to see his profile rise on the recruiting trail.
Overall Cale averaged 20.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, both of which led his team, and looking back on it he feels things went very well for him during the summer.
“I think I had a good summer,” said Cale. “I think I made myself standout as a player and get my name out there a little bit more. My coach Tim Legler was a big part of that, so I think him a lot.”
On the recruiting trail several schools have begun to really turn up the heat in his recruitment and have stopped in to check on him.
“I have been talking to Xavier, La Salle, Seton Hall, Miami just came to see me, and I made a visit to Xavier not too long ago,” said Cale.
About the visit to Xavier, Cale said, “My family is from there so I like it a lot. I am comfortable around there, and I have been to the area a bunch of times. I want to be around family, and their program is phenomenal and they have good academics and nice coaches, so that is really good.
When it comes to Miami and where things stand with the Hurricanes, Cale responded, “Miami has high interest. I didn’t get an offer yet, but they are sending letters and texting me and saying they are interested.”
It is still early in the process for Cale, but he does know what he will be looking for in a school when the time does come to make a decision.
“I don’t want to go too far from home, so location is important, but I am looking most at academics and the basketball program, and if the program is like a family and can help me develop,” noted Cale.
