Auburn lands Davion Mitchell

The Auburn Tigers landed four-star point guard Davion Mitchell on Thursday.

Bruce Pearl has proven throughout his coaching career that he knows his way around the state of Georgia, and again that paid off in a big way. Class of 2017 point guard Davion Mitchell picked Pearl and the Tigers on Thursday.

Mitchell also had offers from schools such as Georgia, Florida, Georgia Tech, and Connecticut but in the end it was Auburn that one.

A person with knowledge of the recruitment at Liberty Co. High School told Scout.com, "Pearl had the relationship with one of our former players, Jordan McRae, from Tennessee and that helped with Davion."

This is a big commitment for Auburn as Mitchell is one of the toughest and most athletic guards in the South. As Mitchell continues to improve as a shooter the sky is the limit in his recruitment.
