Connecticut added another talented piece to a successful 2016 recruiting class on Friday.
Vance Jackson, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound small forward from Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep, has committed to the Huskies, he tells Scout.
"UConn is the right fit for me because the system they run benefits me to show all aspects of my game," Jackson said. "UConn is in need of scorers and that's what I do well.
"I wanted to go to a pure basketball school and it felt like home visiting the school. The coaching staff is like having my dad by my side."
Jackson, Scout's 63rd ranked prospect in 2016, is a talented shooter who has very good size. He'll give Kevin Ollie a serious threat as a hybrid forward scorer.
The four-star prospect is pleased with how UConn's staff and how it is planning on using him.
"They always see something get better at, no matter what," Jackson said. "They plan on using me as a wing and pushing the ball off a defensive rebound, running plays, coming off screens, posting small guards and doing everything."
