Texas native Nate Morris made a verbal pledge to Andy Kennedy and Mississippi on Tuesday evening, Dallas Mustangs coach Tony Johnson told Scout.
"He felt like that would be good competition for him playing in the SEC, against Kentucky and LSU," Johnson said. "He felt like that is going to push him."
Morris, a 6-foot-10 big man out of Lancaster (Tex.) High, visited Mississippi officially this past weekend. He also strongly considered Texas A&M, Tulsa and Memphis.
What does Morris bring to the table?
"Energy, high motor, rebounding and can score around the basket," Johnson told Scout.
Mississippi assistant coach Tony Madlock was the point man in the Morris recruitment.
Ole Miss now boasts four pledges in their 2016 recruiting class. Morris joins Breein Tyree, Justas Furmanavicius and JUCO standout Tyrek Coger to make up their currently recruiting class.
